Day 4Free time to explore Fukuoka. Consider taking a 15-minute train journey to visit Nanzoin Temple in Sasaguri, a home to the world’s biggest bronze statue of Buddah.

Day 5Use a bus pass provided to take a direct bus to Kurokawa Onsen - a charming hot spring town with atmospheric inns and outdoor baths.You will stay in a traditional Japanese inn (ryokan) in a room with private outdoor hot spring tub (onsen). It’s beautifully located among maple trees and running streams. On arrival you will be given yukata (traditional cotton robe), which you can wear around ryokan, and yukata coat in case you want to pop out in cooler weather. In the evening enjoy a traditional multi-course meal (kaiseki).

Day 6Relax in soothing hot spring waters of your private outdoor tub followed by delicious breakfast. After check out, take a bus to Kumamoto.

Day 7Take a bus to Kumamoto port and then a ferry to Shimabara. Shimabara is known for it’s beautiful castle and often called “The City of Swimming Carp” for fresh spring water streams that is home to hundreds of brightly coloured Japanese carp. Continue to Unzen Onsen by bus. Unzen Onsen is a popular hot spring resort 727 metres above sea level. Its active volcano, mountains and stunning peaks are a major attraction. Stay in ryokan in a room with private wooden open-air hot spring bath. In the evening enjoy dinner at your ryokan.
