Day 1 Arrive Nagoya at 08:50
Make your own way to your hotel by train and subway (journey time about 45 minutes, payable locally). Free time in Nagoya. We recommend that you visit Nagoya Castle, Nagoya TV Tower for a beautiful panoramic view extending from Japan Alps to Ise Bay, Tokugawa Art Museum for great collections of written documents of ancient emperors, suits of armour, helmets, swords, writings and paintings of distinguished persons and Atsuta Shrine.

Day 2 Use the Japan Rail Pass provided to take a direct train to Takayama, a picturesque town famous for its traditional architecture and thatched roof-houses, farmer’s markets and festivals (journey time about 2 hours 15 minutes). 
Stay in ryokan to experience Japanese hospitality, traditional cuisine, futon bedding and onsen (hot spring) bathing.

Day 3 Free time in Takayama. Today we recommend that you visit Hida Folk Village, a remarkable example of conservation of buildings, crafts and traditions brought together in a beautiful mountain setting - yet just 20 a minutes walk from central Takayama. The village includes more than 30 traditional farmhouses and buildings, many of which were transported from other parts of the region. Each has been preserved in its original state, including artifacts related to the life and work of the owners, and visitors can wander from house to house at leisure as well as watch demonstrations of local crafts such as woodcarving, lacquer work, and the making of straw baskets, hats and sandals.

Day 4 Use your JR Pass to take trains to Kanazawa (journey time about 3 hours). We recommend that you visit Kenrokuen Garden, considered as one of the three most beautiful landscape gardens in Japan, Kanazawa Castle Park and Kanazawa Breakfast Yasue Gold Leaf, where you can find out about gold leaf making process or even join a workshop.

Day 5 Use your JR Pass to take a direct train to Kyoto (journey time about 2 hours) We recommend that you visit Kiyomizu Temple, Gion District, Kinkakuji and Ryoanji Rock Garden today.

Day 6 Free time in Kyoto. Today you can use your JR Pass to travel to Nara to visit Todaiji Temple, Kofukuji Temple, Kasuga Taisha Shrine and Nara Deer Park with more that 1200 deers roaming freely in the park. You can feed them from your hands with special treats that you can buy in the park.

Day 7 Use your JR Pass to take a direct train to Nagoya (journey time 50 minutes) and then Inuyama and Kiso Three-River Park, known for its river and ravine beauty. We recommend that you visit Inuyama Castle, Japan’s oldest existing fortress, built in 1537, Museum Meiji Mura, a unique museum village which preserves valuable monuments of the dawn of modern Japan, all are genuine historic structures from various parts of Japan, which were transported and reconstructed there with great ingenuity.
